We aspire to see the High Atlas Mountains’ resources managed sustainably and equitably, with healthy ecosystems on the rise and local communities’ agricultural economies prospering as a result of their commitment to sustainable and climate-resilient practices.


Founded in 2014 by Moroccan-Amazigh young environmentalists, MBLA supports conservation efforts in the High Atlas mountains, to restore ecological balance, document and promote traditional conservation practices and support agriculture-based rural economies. In collaboration with local communities, we contribute to mitigating climate change effects, assess the richness of local flora and fauna and protect endemic species.e restore and build sustainable water infrastructure, implement and manage community plant nurseries and seed banks, and introduce sustainable land use practices to farmers, pastoralists, cooperatives and youth to support local livelihoods and promote green entrepreneurship.
